Spanky Revolution

Welcome!

Welcome guys in the brand new site for my personal musical project; Spanky Revolution!

Spanky Revolution is a solo project I run since December 2009. So far, all of my songs has been done with Fruity Loops Studios 9, but I am now starting to wrok on learning Cubase 6. My songs are all instrumental and are mostly rock. An exact style would be punk/rock/industrial/experimental/dance/metal/etc. Songs mostly use drums, guitars and bass, but the amount of guitars is always changing and I sometimes use other instrumetns such as synths, violons and pianos.

On April 23rd 2010, I released my very first album, "Tonight Is the Night" that featured 12 tracks. The album was split into three "chapters" with their own moods and specific style, (classic rock and upbeat; industrial and dark; experimental and heavy). The album is totally free to download in the music section. Few months after, I started working on a new album, using more synths and tweaking guitars more. With the start of college though, I had to give this album an hiatus and since I am now starting to work on a brand new software to make my songs, I decided to release this album, You Won't Know, as an EP, on April 23rd 2011 - exactly a year after Tonight Is the Night.

In my everyday life, I study in college at the Cégep de Jonquière, in the province of Québec, in order to become radio or television host. I play drums since more than 2 years now and I have been taking private lessons for a year and an half. Aside from that, I have no real musical education; I just learn by creating and experimenting. I mostly listen to punk, alternative and rock music. The bands that I prefer are The Riverboat Gamblers, Brand New (a band that influences me a lot on what I do), Strike Anywhere, Big D and the Kids Table, Karkwa, NoFX, Phoenix, The Airborne Toxic Event, the Strokes, the Vines, Sex Pistols, Gaslight Anthem, Billy Talent and it goes on and on... I am also a great hockey fan.
